The Charge Port's Take

Hand-written editorial · last updated October 2026

What the IQL is

The Escalade IQL is the long version of Cadillac's all-electric Escalade IQ, sold as its own model with its own trims and prices. At 228.5 inches it is 4.2 inches longer than the IQ, on the same 136.2-inch wheelbase: the extra length is a longer rear overhang with restyled rear lighting, and the front is unchanged. Third-row legroom grows from 32.3 to 36.7 inches and headroom by 0.9 inch. Cargo space behind the third row is 24.2 cubic feet against the IQ's 23.6, and 75.4 against 69.1 behind the second row.

Trims and pricing

Cadillac sells four 2026 trims: Luxury ($130,405), Sport ($130,905), Premium Luxury ($150,705) and Premium Sport ($151,205), each before a $2,895 destination charge. Each costs $3,000 more than the matching Escalade IQ trim. The Premium trims add the 19.2 kW onboard charger, power-opening doors, a 38-speaker AKG audio system, massage front seats and Night Vision. Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance, with a 3-year OnStar One plan, and a 55-inch Horizon Display are standard, and an Executive Second Row package is available. Cadillac hasn't priced a 2027 IQL yet. No federal EV tax credit applies: it ended September 30, 2025, and the IQL is priced above the credit's $80,000 cap for SUVs anyway.

Range and battery

Cadillac estimates 460 miles for every IQL trim, against 465 for the shorter IQ, from development testing or analytical projection consistent with SAE J1634. EPA hasn't published a range or efficiency rating for either wheelbase, so this page shows Cadillac's estimate and no efficiency figure. Both share a 205 kWh, 24-module battery on an 800-volt architecture.

Charging at home and on the road

The 2026 IQL has a CCS1 charging port, not a native NACS port, so Tesla Superchargers need GM's approved NACS DC adapter ($275 MSRP). DC fast charging peaks at 350 kW, and Cadillac quotes up to 116 miles of range in about 10 minutes; it publishes no 10–80% time. At home, Luxury and Sport have an 11.5 kW onboard charger, which Cadillac rates at about 22 miles of range per hour and says must be hardwired, and the Premium trims a 19.2 kW charger, about 36 miles per hour on a professionally installed 100-amp station. Cadillac publishes no full-charge time. With GM Energy's V2H Enablement Kit and PowerShift Charger, Cadillac says the IQL can power a properly equipped home.

Performance, towing and where it's built

Every trim is dual-motor all-wheel drive with 680 hp, rising to 750 hp and 785 lb-ft in Velocity Max, and Cadillac estimates 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds. It seats seven and is rated to tow up to 7,500 pounds. The IQL is built with the IQ at GM's Factory ZERO in Detroit-Hamtramck, Michigan, so it passes the US final-assembly test of the federal auto-loan interest deduction; the deduction's income and loan rules still apply.

IQL or IQ?

Trim for trim, the IQL costs $3,000 more than the Escalade IQ and gives up 5 miles of Cadillac-estimated range, 460 against 465, for 4.4 more inches of third-row legroom and a little more cargo space. If the third row carries adults or you need luggage room with every seat up, the IQL is the one to look at; otherwise the IQ is cheaper and slightly shorter. NHTSA files the IQL as its own model, separate from the IQ.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL cost?

The 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL starts at $130,405 MSRP for the Escalade IQL Luxury and runs to $151,205 for the Escalade IQL Premium Sport across the 4 configurations we track. With Cadillac's $2,895 destination fee, that comes to $133,300 to $154,100 before tax, registration and options. By trim: Escalade IQL Luxury, $130,405 ($133,300 with the destination fee); Escalade IQL Sport, $130,905 ($133,800 with the destination fee); Escalade IQL Premium Luxury, $150,705 ($153,600 with the destination fee); Escalade IQL Premium Sport, $151,205 ($154,100 with the destination fee).

What's the difference between the Escalade IQL and the Escalade IQ?

The IQL is 4.2 inches longer (228.5 inches) on the same 136.2-inch wheelbase, with a longer rear overhang. That buys 36.7 inches of third-row legroom against the IQ's 32.3, and 24.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row against 23.6. The battery, powertrain and charging are the same; the IQL costs $3,000 more and Cadillac estimates its range at 460 miles against the IQ's 465.

What is the range of the Cadillac Escalade IQL?

Cadillac estimates 460 miles for every trim. EPA hasn't published a rating for the Escalade IQL or IQ, so that is Cadillac's figure, not an EPA rating, and there is no EPA efficiency figure.

Does the Escalade IQL have a NACS port?

No. The 2026 Escalade IQL has a CCS1 port. It can use Tesla Superchargers with GM's approved NACS DC adapter, which lists at $275.

How long does the Escalade IQL take to charge?

Cadillac quotes up to 116 miles of range in about 10 minutes on a 350 kW DC fast charger, but no 10–80% time. At home, the 11.5 kW charger on Luxury and Sport adds about 22 miles of range per hour and the 19.2 kW charger on the Premium trims about 36. Cadillac doesn't publish a full-charge time for the 205 kWh pack.

How many seats does the Escalade IQL have?

Seven, in three rows. Third-row legroom is 36.7 inches, 4.4 inches more than in the Escalade IQ, and an Executive Second Row package is available.

How much can the Escalade IQL tow?

Cadillac rates the Escalade IQL to tow up to 7,500 pounds. Towing cuts an EV's range sharply, so plan charging stops well inside the 460-mile estimate.

Can the Escalade IQL power a house?

Cadillac says it can: paired with GM Energy's V2H Enablement Kit and PowerShift Charger, the Escalade IQL can power a properly equipped home. The hardware is sold separately and needs professional installation.

Where is the Cadillac Escalade IQL built?

At GM's Factory ZERO in Detroit-Hamtramck, Michigan, alongside the Escalade IQ. That US final assembly is the vehicle test for the federal auto-loan interest deduction, which also has income and loan rules.

How fast does the Cadillac Escalade IQL accelerate 0-60 mph?

The Cadillac Escalade IQL hits 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds — quicker than most sport sedans.

Is the Cadillac Escalade IQL available with all-wheel drive?

Yes — all 4 Cadillac Escalade IQL configurations in our database are all-wheel drive. Dual-motor (or tri-motor on performance variants) setups deliver improved traction and faster acceleration than comparable single-motor EVs.

Does the 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL qualify for a federal EV tax credit?

No. The federal Clean Vehicle Credit (IRC §30D) expired on September 30, 2025 under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act — no new EVs purchased on or after October 1, 2025 qualify. State incentives remain available: see our /deals page for current rebates in California, Maine, Colorado, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and other states. The Section 30C EV Charger Tax Credit (for home charger installation) expired June 30, 2026 — if your charger was placed in service on or before that date, you can still claim it (30% up to $1,000) on your 2026 return via IRS Form 8911.

How long will the Cadillac Escalade IQL battery last?

Real-world data from EV fleets suggests modern lithium-ion EV batteries (2020+) retain roughly 85–90% of their original capacity at 100,000 miles, above the 75% capacity floor in the Cadillac Escalade IQL battery warranty, and 80–85% at 200,000 miles.
