The Charge Port's Take
Hand-written editorial · last updated September 2026
Who the 2027 Uncharted is for
The Uncharted is Subaru's smallest and least expensive EV, a compact five-seat SUV that Subaru says is about 7 inches shorter than the Solterra. The Premium FWD is the efficiency pick, with a 221-hp front motor and the lineup's best EPA range, 308 miles. The Sport and GT add a second motor for 338 hp, all-wheel drive and X-MODE. It suits commuters and small households who want a native NACS port and quick DC charging for less than the Trailseeker costs.
Trims and pricing
Subaru offers three trims for 2027, each priced before a $1,475 destination and delivery charge: the front-drive Premium FWD at $34,995, the dual-motor Sport at $39,795 and the GT at $43,795. The Premium FWD and Sport ride on 18-inch wheels; the GT adds 20-inch wheels, a panoramic moonroof, ventilated front seats and Harman Kardon audio. Subaru kept 2027 prices at 2026 levels. For 2026, it said the Premium FWD would be offered in limited numbers.
Range and efficiency
EPA rates the Premium FWD at 308 miles, the Sport at 287 and the 20-inch-wheel GT at 273. Subaru's 2027 pricing release swaps the Sport and GT figures, but its spec sheet and the EPA agree with the figures here. The front-drive car is also the most efficient, at 26 kWh per 100 miles against 29 for the Sport and 30 for the GT. Subaru lists a 74.7 kWh battery for every trim without saying whether that's gross or usable capacity.
Charging: native NACS and 28 minutes
Every 2027 Uncharted has a native NACS charge port on the right-front fender, so it plugs into Tesla Superchargers without an adapter. Subaru quotes 10% to 80% in as little as 28 minutes at up to 150 kW. Subaru's documents we read don't say whether CCS1 or J1772 adapters come with the car. Subaru's 2026 release listed an 11 kW onboard charger, but its 2027 documents don't restate it, so we don't quote a Level 2 home-charging time for the 2027.
Performance and practicality
The Premium FWD's single motor makes 221 hp; the Sport and GT add a second motor for 338 hp combined and all-wheel drive. Subaru's 2027 Uncharted documents don't include a 0-60 mph time or a towing rating, so we don't list either. Cargo space is 23.0 cubic feet behind the rear seats by EPA measure; Subaru's pricing release says 'more than 25 cubic feet', which doesn't match its own spec sheet. The Uncharted seats five, and Subaru assembles it in Japan.
How it compares
Toyota's C-HR SE AWD is the closest match in our database, with 287 miles of EPA range, a 5.0-second 0-60 and a 30-minute 10–80% charge; the Uncharted Sport also has 287 miles and charges in 28. Chevrolet's 2026 Equinox EV 1LT FWD costs the same $34,995 as the Premium FWD and goes further, at 319 miles, but its 2026 specs gave 42 minutes for a 10-80% charge, and it uses a CCS1 port. Kia's EV3, not yet on sale, has announced prices from $29,890 and up to 321 miles of EPA range.

What is the range of the 2027 Subaru Uncharted?

How fast does the Subaru Uncharted accelerate 0-60 mph?
Subaru's 2027 Uncharted documents don't include a 0-60 mph time for any trim, so we don't list one, and we don't substitute magazine test results. For reference, the Premium FWD has a 221-hp front motor, and the dual-motor Sport and GT make 338 hp combined. We'll add a time if Subaru publishes one.
How long does the Subaru Uncharted take to DC fast-charge?
Subaru quotes 10% to 80% in as little as 28 minutes on a DC fast charger, at up to 150 kW, and the native NACS port plugs straight into Tesla Superchargers. Does the Subaru Uncharted have a Tesla (NACS) charging port?
Yes. Subaru's 2026 and 2027 Uncharted specifications list a native NACS charge port on the right-front fender, so it can charge at Tesla Superchargers without an adapter. Subaru's documents we read don't say whether CCS1 or J1772 adapters come with the car, so confirm with the dealer if you'll use older CCS1 fast chargers or J1772 stations.
Is the Subaru Uncharted available with all-wheel drive?
Yes, on two of the three trims. The $39,795 Sport and $43,795 GT have dual-motor all-wheel drive with 338 hp and X-MODE. The $34,995 Premium FWD drives the front wheels with a 221-hp motor, and in exchange it has the lineup's best EPA range, 308 miles, against 287 for the Sport and 273 for the GT.
How much cargo space does the Subaru Uncharted have?
Subaru's spec sheet lists 23.0 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, by EPA measure. Its pricing release says 'more than 25 cubic feet', which doesn't match the spec sheet, so we use 23.0. The Uncharted seats five, and Subaru says it's about 7 inches shorter than the Solterra.

On the figures in our database they're close. The Toyota C-HR SE AWD is rated at 287 miles, reaches 60 mph in 5.0 seconds and charges from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes.
