Where the Terra stands

The Terra is Scout Motors' body-on-frame electric pickup, and it isn't on sale yet. Scout takes $100 fully refundable reservations and says initial production is targeted for 2027, subject to change. In a September 2, 2026 release, Scout said customer deliveries are expected to begin in 2028, with validation vehicles being built at its Production Center in Blythewood, South Carolina, in 2026 and into 2027. There's no production truck, EPA rating or model year yet, so the figures here are Scout's targets.

Price: Scout expects under $60,000

Scout hasn't published MSRPs for the Terra. It says entry-model pricing is expected to start under $60,000, and its reservation page adds that options and pricing may change. That's a ceiling for the cheapest version, not a price for any configuration, so we don't show an MSRP or a delivered price. Scout says it will sell every new Scout vehicle directly to the consumer.

Range: up to 350 miles is a target

Scout says its fully electric models will offer up to 350 miles of range, a figure its legal note calls a manufacturer's projected estimate based on internal targets, not an EPA rating or a test. Scout also plans a range-extended Terra, called Harvester, that would add a built-in gas-powered generator; this page covers the fully electric truck only. Scout hasn't announced battery sizes or efficiency, so we can't estimate charging costs yet.

Bed, cab and power outlets

Scout lists a 5.5-foot bed for the Terra, and its materials mention a front bench seat and seating for up to six, but Scout hasn't published a final seat count. Scout says the truck will offer a 240-volt onboard power outlet, up to six USB-C ports and four 120-volt outlets, so it could run tools or camping gear from the battery. Scout projected nearly 2,000 pounds of payload at the 2024 reveal, a preliminary estimate for concept vehicles rather than a rating.

Towing, charging and off-road hardware

Scout describes a body-on-frame truck with a solid rear axle, front and rear mechanical locking differentials and an electric drive unit on each axle. At the 2024 reveal it projected towing of over 10,000 pounds, a preliminary concept estimate. Scout says the Terra will debut with a NACS charge port, usable at CCS chargers with an adaptor; its 2024 plans also included an 800-volt architecture, up to 350 kW DC charging capability and bi-directional charging.

How it compares

Until Scout publishes production specs, comparisons are provisional. Chevrolet's Silverado EV starts at $52,800 before destination for the retail Custom, with 286 miles of EPA range (the fleet-only WT reaches 493 with the Max Range pack), and Tesla's Cybertruck AWD is $74,990 with 325 miles. Rivian's R1T starts at $79,990 with 289 to 420 miles across its current trims. If Scout meets its targets, the Terra would start below the Cybertruck and R1T, with a body-on-frame layout and a 5.5-foot bed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much will the Scout Terra cost?

Scout hasn't published US MSRPs for the Terra yet. It has said pricing is expected to start under $60,000. We'll list MSRPs here once Scout announces them.

What is the range of the Scout Terra?

Scout's target is up to 350 miles for the fully electric Terra. Scout's legal note calls it a projected estimate based on internal targets, so it isn't an EPA rating or a tested figure. Scout also plans a range-extended Harvester version with a built-in gas-powered generator, which this page doesn't cover.

When will the Scout Terra come out?

Scout says initial production is targeted for 2027, subject to change, at its Production Center in Blythewood, South Carolina. Its September 2, 2026 release says customer deliveries of new Scout vehicles are expected to begin in 2028. Scout hasn't announced a model year. A $100 reservation, which Scout says is fully refundable, holds a place in line.

How much can the Scout Terra tow?

At the Terra's 2024 reveal, Scout projected towing of over 10,000 pounds and nearly 2,000 pounds of payload. Scout labels both as preliminary estimates for concept vehicles, subject to change, so treat them as targets until Scout publishes ratings for a production truck.

How long does the Scout Terra take to DC fast-charge?

Scout hasn't published a charging time for the Terra. At its 2024 reveal it announced an 800-volt architecture and up to 350 kW DC charging capability, and Scout says the Terra will debut with a NACS charge port, the connector used at Tesla Superchargers. We'll add a 10–80% time once Scout publishes one for a production truck.

Will the Scout Terra have a NACS (Tesla) charging port?

Scout says the Terra will debut with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) charge port, and that CCS chargers can be used with an adaptor. There's no production Terra yet, so treat the port as announced rather than confirmed hardware, and check the final specifications before you order.

How big is the Scout Terra's bed?

Scout lists a 5.5-foot bed for the Terra. Scout says the truck will offer a 240-volt onboard power outlet, up to six USB-C ports and four 120-volt outlets. Scout's materials mention a front bench seat and seating for up to six, but it hasn't published a final seat count. At the 2024 reveal Scout projected nearly 2,000 pounds of payload, a preliminary concept estimate.

Is the Scout Terra electric or a hybrid?

Scout plans both. The fully electric Terra, which this page covers, has a Scout target of up to 350 miles of range. Scout also plans a range-extended version called Harvester, which would add a built-in gas-powered generator. Scout expects entry pricing under $60,000 and customer deliveries to begin in 2028.

How do you reserve a Scout Terra?

Scout takes reservations on its website for $100 and says the fee is fully refundable. Scout also says options and pricing may change before production, which is targeted for 2027, with customer deliveries expected to begin in 2028. Scout plans to sell every new vehicle directly to the consumer.

Will the Scout Terra offer all-wheel drive?

Yes — the Scout Terra configuration in our database is all-wheel drive, using a second motor for better traction in snow/rain and faster acceleration than a comparable single-motor EV. Our database lists one representative configuration per model, not a complete trim table. A single-motor version may also be offered, so confirm the drivetrain on the exact trim you're configuring.

Does the Scout Terra qualify for a federal EV tax credit?

No. The federal Clean Vehicle Credit (IRC §30D) expired on September 30, 2025 under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act — no new EVs purchased on or after October 1, 2025 qualify. State incentives remain available: see our /deals page for current rebates in California, Maine, Colorado, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and other states. The Section 30C EV Charger Tax Credit (for home charger installation) expired June 30, 2026 — if your charger was placed in service on or before that date, you can still claim it (30% up to $1,000) on your 2026 return via IRS Form 8911.

How long will the Scout Terra battery last?

Real-world data from EV fleets suggests modern lithium-ion EV batteries (2020+) retain roughly 85–90% of their original capacity at 100,000 miles and 80–85% at 200,000 miles.

What is the Scout Terra battery warranty?

We don't have battery-warranty terms for the Scout Terra on file yet, so check the Scout warranty booklet for this model. Among the EV battery warranties we track, most run 8 or 10 years and at least 100,000 miles, and the guaranteed capacity floor varies by maker: 70% is the most common, some guarantee 75%, and a few state no floor at all. Compare the EVs we do track in our EV battery warranty rankings.

The Scout Terra is an upcoming electric truck that isn't on sale in the US yet. Scout expects pricing to start under $60,000. Scout lists up to 350 miles of range (Scout's target) with all-wheel drive.
